A COVID-19 friendly spring break

This winter has been a wild one and on top of that, we are still fully in the COVID-19 pandemic so going out and about has been very limited. Spring break is just around the corner and a lot more places are going to have safety precautions set in place. This being said, make sure you are doing your own research and pay attention to how your destinations are planning to keep you and your families for safe. If you don’t want to travel on an airplane, there are plenty of other spring break vacation ideas. Here are just a few ideas of ways to enjoy a COVID-19 friendly spring break this year.
Rent an RV and have a little road trip.
Road trips can be a great bonding experience and allow you, friends and family to have time to read, play handheld video games (now it would be playing on your phone) or do a bit of sketching. This is a major positive these days because you don’t need to worry about any hotels along the way not cleaning anything properly and you have everything you need with you at all times. This could be a trip up to see national monuments or down to travel along the lakes for a little beach getaway.
Find an Airbnb that has high cleanliness ratings.
This is a great way to get away from the walls you have been trapped in for the past few months. You can even find these in a nearby city. Glamping is very in style right now and there are some pretty incredible glamping sights at national parks around the country. (Glamping is like camping except that you are not giving up any of the comforts you are used to. You are not sleeping on the ground or in a traditional tent but often, the glamping site will have their own bathroom and shower inside the “tent”.) Going to a national park can be both gorgeous and educational. While the whole point of a vacation is to take a break from your day to day, it is nice to keep the mind busy even while you relax and learn something about the country that we live in!
Staycation in your backyard.
Maybe someone in your family is a little more likely to get sick and you want to do everything in your power to keep them safe. Spring break during this pandemic doesn’t have to be boring, it can be all the more fun even with out leaving your home! You just need a little more creativity. Take the time to redecorate a space that you have spent all of your time in; paint some walls, get some new pillows or some new wall art which will spice up the space and give it new life. Maybe plant a garden in your backyard or get some new plants to set next to your windows. Allow this time away from work to revive you. If weather permits, set up a tent in your own backyard or make a fort in your living room.
Whatever you end up doing, be safe and healthy and enjoy a COVID-19 friendly spring break!
